Licensing
The information a music supervisor needs before a deadline, in one place. If something here does not answer your question, write and it gets answered the same day.
Own catalogue
Recordings released under his own name are controlled directly. Master and publishing sit in the same place, which means a one-stop clearance is possible without a third party in the chain.
Artist collaborations
On records made for other artists, the master is controlled by the artist's label and the publishing share is administered separately. Those requests need both sides. Ask and the correct contact goes back to you rather than a redirect.
Rescoring and rework
When a clearance chain will not close before a deadline, a purpose-written cue in the same idiom usually will. Turnaround depends on length and whether stems are needed.
Deliverables
Full mix, instrumental, a cappella, TV mix, stems and alternate lengths, at 24-bit and the sample rate the picture needs. Metadata is delivered filled in, not blank.
01. The track
A title, or a description of what the scene needs if the search is still open.
02. Use
Film, series, trailer, advertising or game, how long the licence runs and where.
03. Deadline
The date the cue has to be in the edit, not the date it would be nice to have it.
04. Budget range
It decides whether the answer is a licence, a rework or an introduction to someone else.
